The Ford F-150 has long been a class leader in power and capabilities. For the 2018 model year, there are four engines currently available on the standard models. The F-150’s first-ever diesel will be coming in spring 2018.
 


3.5-liter EcoBoost® V6

 
2018 introduces an all-new version of this excellent engine. It delivers 375 horsepower and best-in-class 470 lb-ft of torque—better than all gasoline and diesel competitors. When properly equipped, this engine can tow an astounding 13,200 pounds!

 

2.7-liter EcoBoost® V6

 
This particular engine is rated at 325 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque. It boasts a maximum payload rating of 2,230 pounds and can tow up to 8,500 pounds.

 

3.3-liter Ti-VCT V6

 
This is a new engine option for the F-150 this year. It offers 290 horsepower and 265 lb-ft of torque. It comes with a six-speed automatic transmission with three driving modes: Normal, Tow-Haul, and Sport.

 

5.0-liter Ti-VCT V8

 
This powerful engine delivers 395 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque. That amount of muscle is good enough to give this engine a best-in-class payload rating of 3,270 pounds. With this engine under the hood, the F-150 can tow up to 13,200 pounds.
